Answer

/ The procedure is very similar. In some cases Lipoinjection is also used which consists in injecting body fat where it is needed. Normally Lipoinjection has to be repeated.

/ The procedure can be done with localized, Epidural or General, depending on the number of regions to operate on and the patient’s preference.

/ Practically any region that merits the elimination of adiposities which are distorting the silhouette of the patient.

/ It all depends on the overall health of the patient and the results from the Physical Exam. It is also important to evaluate the psychological profile of the patient and their expectations. Patients that have a history of Deep Vein Thrombosis are considered high risk.

/ The Plastic Surgeon should guarantee a proper molding the figure without consequences such as undulations, depressions, lumps, skin stains or loss of sensibility.

/ If the Plastic Surgeon does not interfere with the superficial body fat layer, those that nourish the skin giving it the smoothness, tone and sensibility it will be practically pain free except for those places where the patient supports body weight during sleep.

/ It helps in minimizing swelling and increases the patients post-opt comfort. After three weeks there is no reason to continue using it.

/ Besides the use of Antibiotics and Anti Inflammatory medication we recommend the use of heat starting on the fifth day which helps to reduce swelling faster and reach the desired result faster. Thermo Slim is also very useful.

/ This will depend on the trauma, it varies from patient to patient, but generally from 4-6 weeks after the procedure the patient can go back to the gym.

/ Liposuction is most widely used Aesthetic Plastic Surgery procedure in the world. This procedure is very safe when done by qualified and experienced Plastic Surgeons. The patient should evaluate the result of past procedures done by the Plastic Surgeon and thus asses his or her ability.

/ The undesired consequences, such undulations, depressions and bumps can be improved on. The patient must have enough body fat in another area in order to Lipoinject this body fat in the affected areas. The patient must keep in mind that the procedure might have to be redone, since some of the body fat that has been lipoinjected will be absorbed naturally by the patient’s body. There are other possibilities such as resections or camouflages.

/ There are several different types of Liposuction: Ultrasonic, Vibroliposuction, Laser Assisted, Tumescent, etc. None of these procedures guarantees a better result than the others and the reason is very simple. The Liposuction work is purely artistic it does not depend on the equipment. This art which leads to better results depends on three variables: 1) Where to do Liposuction since the body should be evaluated as a whole. 2) How to do a Liposuction which is very important in reducing undesired consequences such as bumps, undulations, skin stains, etc. 3) How much can be liposuctioned which is critical in achieving the best proportions. None of these factors depend on the equipment. These factors are dealt with by the Plastic Surgeon of your choice.
